The UK’s Met Office has produced a series of new, global maps to illustrate some of the human impacts of climate change. The Human Dynamics of Climate Change (HDCC) maps include information about a number of key metrics (e.g. population density, key exports, fish catches) and some of the implications of climate change in an un-adapted world with ‘business as usual’ greenhouse gas concentrations. Alternative versions allow comparison with a future world where there have been significant steps to reduce carbon emissions.
The maps are available to download for free, and come with an impressive range of supporting information, including regional case studies and details of the underlying data.
