RegIS was the first attempt in the UK to produce an integrated snapshot of possible regional futures, in East Anglia and the North West of England. It took into account both climate change and demographic and socio-economic trends.

UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR)

UKWIR facilitates collaborative research for UK water operators. Its members comprise 23 water and sewerage undertakers in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Water UK

Water UK represents all UK water and wastewater service suppliers at national and European level, providing a framework for the water industry to engage with government, regulators, stakeholder organisations and the public.

Water Watch

The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and the British Geological Survey summarise hydrological information for the UK in Water Watch, providing comment on rainfall, river flows and groundwater conditions UK during the previous month. The summary archive goes back until March to July 2007.

Defra

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (formerly DETR) commissioned a consortium to evaluate the impact of Climate change on the demand for water in England and Wales. The project began in June 2000 and produced the final report in February 2003.

New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP)

New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP) is responsible for managing New York City’s water supply sewer and waste water treatment systems. The development of their climate change adaptation strategy is described in: Rosenzweig, C. et al. 2007. Managing climate change risks in New York City’s water system: assessment and adaptation planning. Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change 12: 1391-1409. This is a valuable read, particularly for those concerned with water management.
