Adaptation Strategies for Climate Change in the Urban Environment (ASCCUE) project aimed to further understanding of the impacts of climate change on towns and cities, specifically human comfort, urban greenspace and the built environment. The project also looked beyond an assessment of impacts, using concepts of risk to inform the development of conurbation and neighbourhood scale adaptation strategies.

The rationale behind Sustainable Cities: Options for Responding to Climate cHange Impacts and Outcomes (SCORCHIO) is that successful adaptation requires good impact assessment tools for appraisal of the urban and city environments under a range of climate scenarios.

It also looks at the interrelated roles of the planning system, communities, other stakeholders and delivery bodies.
