London needs to do more to adapt

A new report says that London is not prepared for severe weather events and that climate change may make things worse. ‘Come rain or shine – London’s adaptation to the risks of severe weather’ has been compiled by the London Assembly Environment Committee, which took evidence from a variety of stakeholders, including academics, business and government bodies. The report makes a number of recommendations, including updates to building standards and regulations, promoting flood-resistant buildings and a revised Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for London.
