Risk Framework
We believe that climate risks can, and should, be managed in the same way that an organisation manages any of the other risks it currently faces.
In this workshop you will be introduced to the UKCIP Risk and Uncertainty Framework and by using a case study based on an example from the UKCIP archive, you will explore how you can identify and begin to quantify your climate risks and begin to plan appropriate ways of managing them.
More information on the UKCIP Risk and Uncertainty Framework is available on this site.
Risk Framework workshop
The Risk, Uncertainty and Decision-Making Framework is an 8-stage iterative process that helps decision-makers identify and manage their climate risks in the face of uncertainty. It is based on standard decision-making and risk principles and encourages users to consider their climate risks alongside their non-climate risks.
Using the Risk and Uncertainty Framework will help you answer the common questions:
- What climate change risks could affect my decision?
- What adaptation measures are required, and when should they be implemented?
By the end of the session you will have experienced all 8 steps within the process and have a sound understanding of the principles underlying the framework.
