LCLIP (Local Climate Impacts Profile)
The creation of a Local Climate Impacts Profile (LCLIP) can be an effective tool to help organisations develop a greater understanding of their current vulnerability to weather and climate. LCLIPs are a powerful catalyst to further awareness and action.
Adaptation to climate change is increasingly being incorporated into national policies and legislation but that requires forward planning. If your work involves any of the following areas, having a better understanding if the interactions between your organisation and weather is of critical importance.
- National Indicator 188: Planning to adapt to climate change
Climate Change Act 2008
- Planning Policy (PPS1, Planning White Paper & Planning Bill)
- Civil Contingencies Act (Community Risk Registers & Contingency Planning)
For more information about LCLIPs is available.
Understanding LCLIPs Workshop
UKCIP can share its knowledge of the benefits that an LCLIP can bring to your organisation in a workshop that explores the data sources that may be available and appropriate structures for compiling the data. We will also discuss resource requirements so that delegates fully understand the implications and benefits of undertaking the LCLIP process.
UKCIP are able to facilitate LCLIP workshops for your business or organisation. Please contact the Training team to discuss your requirements.
