The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2008 offers the first glimpse of UKCIP08, the 21st century climate scenarios for the UK, to the horticulture community.

Climate change will have a big impact on the UK’s gardens: for gardeners and for the industry that supplies them. UKCIP08 will help the horticulture sector to plan for unavoidable climate change; to make the most of opportunities and to plan for the most severe impacts.

The Chelsea Flower Show took climate change as its theme this year. It provided UKCIP with an opportunity to explore with amateur and professional gardeners, and those in the horticulture community, how UKCIP can help them to adapt to a changing climate.

UKCIP worked with the Mediterranean Garden Society and garden designer, Rob Edwards, to show some of the opportunities that climate change will offer the UK’s gardeners.

Our Bronze medal winning stand (G20) was in the Continuous Learning section of the Great Pavilion.
