West Midlands Climate Change Partnership

The West Midlands Climate Change Partnership (WMCCP) provides a focus for work on climate change impacts and adaptation in the West Midlands. It was established in 2004 following the scoping report, The Potential Impacts of Climate Change in the West Midlands. This report identified key issues for the region and generated several projects including Bilston Urban Village and Eastside Urban Regeneration scheme.

Since then the partnership has grown and developed so that it now brings together key individuals from a wide range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations. Their aim is to drive forward climate change adaptation in the West Midlands. Three working groups (Local Authorities, the built environment and the rural economy) meet regularly to develop projects, share experience and set the agenda for adaptation in the region.
