Government
Central government
The Government is responsible for setting the policy and regulatory context for organisations and businesses to implement adaptation. Individual government departments also have targets that they must achieve. This section looks at the Climate Change Act, the Adaptation Sub-Committee and Climate Change Risk Assessment.
Devolved Administrations
An overview of climate change activity in the Devolved Administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Local authorities
Local councils provide many services that will be affected by climate change. This section contains a wide-range of case studies, examples of risk assessments as well as information on impacts and adaptation in the main service areas
Reporting Power Authorities
The Climate Change Act gives power to the Secretary of State to direct public or statutory bodies (reporting authorities) to report on climate change impacts and adaptation proposals. This section provides background information and a portal to the support that UKCIP offers reporting authorities as they produce their adaptation reports
