Further evidence that warming is happening in the deep oceans

Natural systems are complex and there are many areas of active enquiry. Researchers have found further evidence that the recent warming of the planet has manifested itself deep in the oceans. Scientists from the University of Washington suggest that the Atlantic has been warming at a layer 300–1500 m below the surface, with the result that the surface has been warming markedly. The researchers suggest that this is part of a natural cycle and that may dampen the rise in surface temperatures for several more years.
