Supporting SMEs
SMEs make a large contribution to the UK economy and play a key role in promoting flexibility and innovation – aspects likely to be important to the adaptive capacity of our society. Smaller businesses are also likely to be more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change than larger organisations as they have fewer resources to prepare and respond. Provision of support to SMEs on dealing with climate and weather, however, has so far been limited. Even relating to flood prevention, much of the available support is targeted at householders rather than business.
This section provides some information and delivery resources to help you with awareness raising initiatives or delivery of advice to SMEs on preparing for the impacts of climate and weather.
