Weather resilience for your business - a professional approach
On 10th February 2011 UKCIP held an event aimed at SMEs and their advisors at the Said Business School in Oxford. Information was provided on how to build resilience to weather and climate change. The event was also the opportunity to report on a trial that was ran with a group of enterprising accountants. The participating accountants worked with their clients using an online business tool to help them prepare for extreme weather events. The following accountants took part in the trial and each received a certificate to recognise their efforts:
- David Wilsdon, Green Accountancy Ltd Chartered Certified Accountants.
- Dionne Sherwood, Samwood & Co Chartered Certified Accountants.
- Alan Sowden, Chapman Robinson & Moore Ltd Accountants and Registered Auditors.
- Andy Jones, Ellacotts LLP Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers.
- Rob McCullouch, Aries & Co Chartered Accountants.
- Louise Brown, Browns Accountancy Chartered Accountant and Taxation Adviser.
The event was jointly funded by Climate South East, Oxfordshire County Council and UKCIP, and organised by UKCIP and Emissions Strategy Solutions.
