Ofwat require water companies to demonstrate that they have a sound understanding of the risks from climate change that may affect their ability to provide essential water and sewerage services. They then need to show that they have arrived at robust and appropriate solutions for managing these risks. The need for taking account of adaptation requirements has been integrated into Ofwat’s most recent water price setting process (PR09).
